Toadstone evokes a foreboding presence in the woods, bleak and lonely windswept fields, forgotten folk rites and eerie supernatural tales; with their unusual and unsettling sound.
A chance reunion in 2017 between percussionist / vocalist Lucy Newbould and guitarist / bassist Michael Libbiter founded Toadstone and the pair started bringing some of Michael's musical ideas to life. Their first album quickly followed in 2018, establishing the band's signature haunting folk sound.
Flautist Bhavandeep Stephenson joined Toadstone in 2019, helping the band continue refining their craft. This included performing covers by their inspirations; Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath and The Strawbs and 3 new songs Oubliette, Sea Beast and Song of Eyam in 2020 and 2021.
In 2023 the band released their second full length album, Cernunnos, a nature-driven collective of songs inspired by heritage folk stories.
